Espresso Balsamic Glazed Short Ribs
Rich, tender short ribs slowly braised in an espresso balsamic reduction with garlic, herbs, and deep savory flavor. This dish tastes gourmet but is incredibly simple.
INGREDIENTS
3–4 lbs beef short ribs
2 Tbsp Olive Basin Garlic Olive Oil (or Tuscan Herb)
1 large onion, sliced
4 cloves garlic, minced
½ cup Espresso Dark Balsamic Vinegar
1 cup beef broth
2 Tbsp tomato paste
1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp dried thyme
1 tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Sear the ribs: Heat olive oil in a Dutch oven over medium-high. Season ribs with salt + pepper and sear 2–3 minutes per side until deeply browned. Remove and set aside.
2. Build the base: Add onions and cook 3–4 minutes. Add garlic and tomato paste; cook 1 minute.
3. Deglaze: Pour in Espresso Balsamic and scrape up the brown bits.
4. Add liquids & herbs: Stir in beef broth, Worcestershire, and thyme.
5. Braise: Return ribs to the pot. Cover and bake at 325°F for 2½–3 hours, until fork-tender.
6. Finish: Remove the ribs, simmer the sauce 5–10 minutes to thicken, and spoon over the meat.
